McInnis Systems Wins Build Mississippi Award for Electrical Over $5 Million for West Rankin Wastewater Treatment Project
The award was presented by the Mississippi AGC in Biloxi, MS at the annual Build Mississippi Awards ceremony.
West Rankin Wastewater Treatment Plant is a brand-new wastewater facility supporting all of Rankin County. West Rankin Wastewater Treatment Plant consists of headworks, biological nutrient removal, clarifiers, waste activated sludge pumps, UV disinfection, biosolid removal, and septage receiving.
The use of 3D model and robotic layout from the beginning of this project along with the knowledge and experience of the electricians of the IBEW Local 480 enabled McInnis to complete this job with minimal change orders, fewer delays due to RFI’s and minimal reworking of conduits.
We also want to honor the memory of Bobby Thigpen who was instrumental in the procurement and construction of this project for McInnis. You are missed dear friend.
School Gymnasium LED Lighting Renovations
McInnis Systems completed the LED lighting renovation of four gymnasiums for Copiah County Public School District.

Construction Kickoff: Southern Sky Brands
McInnis Systems began construction on Southern Sky Brands’ new facility in Canton, MS. We look forward to working with American Thermal and Southern Sky Brands.
In Memory of Bobby Thigpen
Today McInnis Systems has suffered a tremendous blow with the passing of Bobby Thigpen. Bobby was a quiet leader with impeccable integrity and a loyal friend who loved his family dearly. In his spare time, Bobby loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, Sue, at their weekend home in Gulfport. There, they enjoyed Crusin’ the Coast every year. He also enjoyed leather working, hunting, and fishing, and he loved working on classic Mopar cars.
Bobby was instrumental to many of the projects at McInnis Systems including the soon to be completed West Rankin Wastewater Station, but his absence will be most deeply felt in not hearing his laugh and seeing his smile every day.
Godspeed good friend; we miss you dearly.
